Finance staff reported that the Village of Wellington received another settlement payment from the PFAS settlement fund of $780,416.58, increasing total received to $5,228,322.43. Staff noted that payments are still expected from TICO and BASF and proposed a budget amendment to allocate this latest payment toward membrane master‑plan work and ongoing water treatment projects.

"We've received another settlement payment from the PFAS settlement fund in the amount of $780,416.58 which brings our total collected to date to $5,228,322.43," finance staff said. Staff recommended approving a budget amendment so the funds can be used for membrane expansions and other capital improvements tied to regulatory compliance and treatment capacity.

Utility staff described ongoing membrane plant expansion work — adding another train to increase membrane capacity by roughly 1.8 million gallons per day by project completion — and said the settlement funds help offset those capital costs. Staff also noted that additional expected settlement receipts from TICO and BASF are not yet received and will be monitored over the coming year.

Next steps: Council will consider Resolution 2025‑7 to approve a budget amendment to allocate the settlement proceeds to the membrane master plan at the upcoming meeting.
