MDIA seeks technology solutions that improve decision making, situational awareness and public preparedness for hurricanes, flooding, large events and man‑made incidents.
MDIA’s open‑call challenge will select three to four companies that each receive a $100,000 equity investment (uncapped SAFE note) and the opportunity to pilot their solutions with the county. Gribel said the application deadline is Dec. 18, with selections in Q1 of next year and pilot launches aimed for Q3–Q4. MDIA plans virtual information sessions for prospective applicants.
Gribel emphasized that MDIA focuses on building solutions that deliver local quality‑of‑life benefits while enabling operational improvements for the Challenge Host, and that the authority has run prior challenges on sargassum repurposing, PortMiami cargo visibility, transportation visibility and housing access. He invited CRC staff to circulate the challenge information and include the opportunity in ORS newsletters to reach local innovators.
