Buena Park trustees discuss shifting board meetings from Mondays to Thursdays; staff survey to be requested

Trustees raised the possibility of moving regular board meetings off Monday to improve staff preparation time and avoid holiday conflicts.

One trustee said they expect to miss several Mondays next spring and suggested considering a consistent weekday (Thursday suggested by Dr. Lee and other trustees) to reduce confusion. Trustees noted tradeoffs: Wednesday evenings conflict with union rep council meetings and some nearby jurisdictions meet on Tuesdays. Board members agreed to request staff feedback via a survey and to bring the topic back at the Dec. 8 organizational meeting for discussion and possible action.

The item remained discussion-only; no vote was taken on a permanent change to the 2026 meeting calendar.
