Finance staff updated the Tourism Commission on Nov. 10 that 2025 year-to-date room-tax receipts totaled $238,699.88. Staff said the village general fund receives the first $225,206.19 of hotel-room tax revenue; amounts above that threshold are remitted to the tourism commission for its use.
Staff explained that room-tax remittances are reported quarterly and include short-term rentals such as Airbnb; final totals for 2025 will not be finalized until after January 2026 when the final payments are due. "We are doing pretty well with collections at this point," finance staff said.
Commissioners discussed seasonal patterns — noting that much of the balance typically arrives in the fourth quarter — and asked whether the reported cash balance included the most recent remittances. A specific additional figure mentioned during the discussion appeared inconsistently in the transcript and was not specified in the commission’s packet; the commission confirmed staff would follow up with any clarifying numbers.
Next steps: staff will provide final 2025 figures after January 2026 remittances and continue regular reporting to the commission.
