At the Nov. 10 meeting, Superintendent Isaac Severs reported the district has met the annual requirement to publicize compliance with nutrition standards and will upload required documentation to the Ohio Department of Education. "Annually, I have to say to the Board of Education, we're complying with the law," Severs said, referencing board policies and the ODE submission.
Severs then reviewed a strategic-plan dashboard developed after administrative training using project-management tools (RACI chart). He outlined a cycle of assessment that uses state testing results, I‑Ready and AIMSweb, and described benchmarks set for academic performance, early-literacy (third-grade reading guarantee), gaps in secondary English language arts, and behavioral supports and code-of-conduct changes. The district has begun adopting aligned curricula and will measure effectiveness in subsequent years.
Severs said Lebanon High School will receive a recommendation in the next two months on internal pathways to help students prepare for careers and college, citing Project Lead The Way STEM offerings and exploration of course-advising adjustments. He also reported the district received a response from the architect conducting a comprehensive facility analysis and enrollment study and will present recommended next steps to the board in coming months.
Board members asked about involvement of the Impact Group and the duration of that contracted support; Severs said the district purchased an initial process and a one‑year check-in and can bring the vendor back as needed. Several trustees praised the clarity of the dashboard and the district’s progress on strategic-plan deliverables.
