On Nov. 10 the Houston County Board of Education approved personnel actions and two job-description items related to central registration.
Dr. Stevens presented personnel statistics for November, noting certified resignations and retirements (3), certified new hires (2), certified vacancies (4), and higher counts among classified positions (16 resignations/retirements, 25 new hires, 44 vacancies). "I submit to you personal reports for November," Dr. Stevens said during the presentation. Mr. Jackson moved to approve the personnel reports and the board approved the motion, 7-0.
Dr. Stevens then presented a new job description for a coordinator of central registration to improve management and accountability of enrollment operations; the board approved the new job description on a motion by Mr. Crockett. He also presented revisions to the central registration specialist job description to clarify duties and expectations; Mr. Ivory moved to approve the revision and Miss Johnson seconded. The board approved both job-description items, 7-0.
Next steps: Human-resources and enrollment staff will post the new coordinator position, begin candidate recruitment, and update classification records for the specialist role.
