After returning from a closed session, the Sedalia City Council approved several conveyances by final reading on Oct. 20.
Bill 2025-180 approved conveyance of two city properties to a local manufacturing company (JA Lamey Manufacturing Company — as recorded in the council packet) in exchange for acceptance of three other properties by the city; the ordinance passed on roll-call vote.
The council also approved two conveyances to the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Foundation: a quit-claim deed for Maple Leaf Park (105 N. Lamine Ave.) (Bill 2025-181) and a warranty deed for 101 E. Main Street (Bill 2025-182). Both bills passed final reading with affirmative roll-call votes.
What happens next: Staff will record the deeds and complete required closings; the Scott Joplin foundation will take title to Maple Leaf Park and the Main Street parcel per the approved conveyances.
