The Lewisville City Council unanimously adopted Nov. 1 a resolution to amend the city's 2020 Citizen Participation Plan to remove pandemic-era provisions and clarify current public-engagement practices required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Staff explained the citizen participation plan is required for HUD-funded programs such as Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership funds and that the amendment removes waivers and processes specific to the COVID pandemic. City staff said the change restores the standard public-participation procedures and clarifies how the city will solicit and document public input going forward.
No members of the public registered to comment on the amendment. After a brief staff presentation the council closed the public hearing and voted unanimously to approve the resolution.
What happens next: The amended plan will be published as the city’s standard citizen participation document for HUD‑related programs and used in upcoming HUD program submissions.
