State awards $103,286 operational grant to restart twelfth-district mental health court; committee forwards to full board

Deputy court administrator Rich Day told the committee the county’s planning grant to restart the twelfth‑district mental health court had moved into an operational phase. "They have funded us $103,286 to run this program for the next fiscal year, which started October 1," Day said.
Day said the county previously approved a full‑time mental health coordinator (on April 7) and that this person is the only court employee whose personnel costs will be covered by the grant. When Commissioner Bair asked whether any portion of the grant would be paid directly into an individual's paycheck beyond the coordinator, Day said no — the grant will cover the single full‑time coordinator position.
The committee moved by Williams and supported by Bayer to forward the operational grant to the full board with a recommendation of approval; the motion carried on roll call.
