The county’s portion equals $3,093 and staff said those funds will be used to purchase law‑enforcement items identified by the sheriff’s office (the current request lists taser cartridges).
Staff noted the city intends to send the interlocal to the state Attorney General’s office for review under statutory procedures for interlocal agreements; the county’s commissioners are scheduled to consider the interlocal on Nov. 13. Council asked clarifying questions about previous uses of the JAG award and typical allowable expenditures under federal guidance; staff said the grant is reimbursable and any change in purchases would need an amended agreement before funds are spent.
