The City of West Bend approved an updated operational agreement for the Mid Moraine Municipal Court that adds two new members and clarifies administrative procedures.
City Administrator Jesse said the updated agreement would add the Town of Fredonia and the City of Sheboygan Falls, increasing membership from 18 to 20 if all communities adopt the agreement. The updates remove specific statute citations in favor of general language that references Wisconsin statutes so the agreement remains current as laws change; the document also clarifies administrative-committee responsibilities, vacancy-filling procedures and judge-salary setting in accordance with state law.
Jesse told council the changes should produce modest cost‑sharing benefits over time and will not change how the court provides services to member communities. The council approved the agreement by voice vote.
