Police activity report: Officer Tom Marshall presented the police department's October activity numbers: 195 calls for service, 37 traffic stops, 11 assists for fire/medics, 20 crashes (reported as injury crashes), 20 disturbance calls, eight intoxicated-driver reports and eight reckless-driver reports. Council members asked clarifying questions about jurisdiction and speed-limit authority along U.S. 421 through Westville; Officer Marshall explained the state sets standards but the town can apply ordinances within its corporate boundaries and discussed permit steps for school-area stenciling.
Votes: Both the transfer resolution and the holiday resolution were adopted on recorded 5-0 votes. The meeting later adjourned at 07:16 following a motion to adjourn.
