Valley Central board approves policies, contracts and budget calendar in routine votes

Montgomery, N.Y. — During its Nov. 10 meeting, the Valley Central Board of Education approved several routine but consequential items by voice vote.
The board completed a second reading and adopted posted policies (vote recorded 7–0). Trustees also designated the Smart Schools Bond Act project as a Type II action, adopted a resolution certifying uncollected school taxing, approved an amendment to the 2025–26 preschool services agreement with Orange County, and voted to enter into an agreement with Epic Athletics. All these items were approved on recorded voice votes listed in the minutes as 7–0.
Separately, the board approved the 2026–27 budget planning calendar and discussed scheduling for December and January budget-planning sessions. The board chair said the December 8 meeting will include related budget discussion and that members should be prepared to present board initiatives for budgeting.
The approvals were procedural and procedural votes do not, by themselves, authorize additional spending beyond the terms of the adopted contracts and resolutions. Details of contract amounts and fiscal impacts were not read into the public record during the meeting and were cited as “posted on the website.”
