City staff reports dredging, tree trimming and holiday programming in November–December announcements

Staff said a contractor mobilized Nov. 3 to begin dredging Quail Cove and the Walmart retention ponds; the project has a 90‑calendar‑day window for completion. The city also budgeted and started tree trimming along wooded areas on the east side near the 3000 block of FM 2499 as part of a crime‑prevention‑through‑environmental‑design initiative. Staff reminded residents that city offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 27–28 and explained trash pickup schedule changes for the holiday week.
Parks staff promoted several seasonal events: Our Village Glows (Nov. 22) with a 50‑foot tree lighting and family activities, Flying Down with the Grinch (Nov. 22) for adults, and Christmas at the Ranch (Dec. 13). The fire department will again host a Santa route Dec. 14–19 with a tracker on the city website; the staff bulletin also announced a public safety pop‑in on Dec. 3 at Salerno’s.
