Lowell — The City of Lowell Historic Board voted at its Nov. 10 meeting to require Boost Mobile, at 376 Merrimack Street, to appear at the board's December meeting for an enforcement hearing over two in-window TV-screen signs and related violations.
Staff said the case reflects repeated nonresponse after multiple visits and that the board's process moves from an initial request for compliance to an order to appear. The board moved, seconded and carried the request by voice vote; members did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes. Staff explained that, if violations are found at the public hearing, the board may assess fines of up to $100 per day per violation and will seek voluntary compliance first.
The board's action was procedural and limited to scheduling the enforcement hearing; no further enforcement penalties were issued at the Nov. 10 meeting.
