MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The Mount Pleasant City Commission approved several routine and project actions during its Nov. 10 meeting.

• MDNR Trust Fund grant: The commission adopted a resolution accepting a $400,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to support the North Pathway connector between Nelson Park and Mission Creek Woodland Park. City Manager Jacintz praised Director Biskorner and staff for securing the funding: "hats off to director Biz Corner and his group for securing this grant." The project is scheduled for 2026 and staff were authorized to execute the project agreement.

• Housing Commission MSA renewal: The commission renewed the municipal services agreement applying to 1414 West Broomfield — a 12‑unit housing commission property — at the current 3% rate for five years. Staff explained that keeping the 3% MSA yields approximately $2,697.98 to the city in 2025; if the agreement were not extended, a 10% payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) would apply and the total payment (shared among taxing jurisdictions) would be about $8,993.28, with the city receiving nearly $2,000.

• Consent and agenda: The commission approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda (minutes, 2026 chemical bid recommendations, and other routine items) by voice vote.

• Closed session: At the end of the evening the commission voted by roll call to enter a closed session under the Open Meetings Act to consider a personnel evaluation.

All motions except the closed session were passed by voice vote; roll‑call votes were recorded where required by ordinance or for closed session.
