Pursuant to that recommendation, staff said the city will support a 9% Low‑Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) application to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. If the project is awarded 9% credits, staff will present a loan or agreement for commission review and acceptance.
Blue Trinity Place LLC has requested a $610,000 loan from the Winter Haven affordable housing trust fund to support the project. Staff recommended awarding the LGAO designation and authorizing the city manager/designee to execute the LGAO form and take any necessary follow‑up steps related to the application. The commission approved the recommendation.
Next steps: applicants will submit the LIHTC application this month to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation; if successful, the city will return with formal agreement(s) for any requested local financing.
