Board certifies Nov. 4 election results; technology levy renewal passes by about 68%

At the Nov. 10 meeting the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School Board formally canvassed and certified the Nov. 4 election results.
Adam Wattenberg presented the canvassing resolution and reviewed administrative and county support for the election process. He reported 18,305 ballots cast in the district, which he said represented about 16.7% turnout of registered voters for a stand-alone school-district election.
Wattenberg announced the three candidates receiving the most votes for four-year terms were Leah Gardner, Robin Serio and Saqoudin Mohammed; Katherine Diamond won the special election to fill the remainder of a term ending January 2028. He also reported the ballot question to renew and increase the district technology levy received 12,370 yes votes and 5,823 no votes (67.99% yes), and that the board would complete post-election steps to notify the county and the Minnesota Department of Education and issue certificates of election.
Jackie moved to approve the canvassing resolution; Catherine seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the resolution (5-0), formally declaring the election results and directing the administrative steps for certification.
The canvass action included authorization to notify county officials and the Minnesota Department of Education for official certification; the ballot-question outcome was recorded in the district materials and will be posted as part of the official abstract.
