The Livingston County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 10 approved a resolution authorizing an easement with Consumers Energy Company to provide natural gas service to a hangar being constructed by DCM Investments at 3580 West Grand River Avenue.
Chair read Resolution 6.1 (read aloud in the meeting transcript as "2020Five-eleven-one52"). Commissioner Fiani moved to approve the resolution, and Commissioner Domas supported the motion. Commissioner Nakagiri asked whether the easement would be permanent and whether the county would receive direct payment. Mark, joining on Zoom on behalf of the airport, said, "The easement would be for as long as the hangar is serviced by Consumers and no there is no remuneration direct from Consumers, but we do get land lease money from the customer who is requiring gas for their hangar." The board approved the resolution by voice vote, recorded as 8–0 with 1 absent.
The board also approved routine claims for payables (items 7.1 and 7.2) covering the period cited in the clerk's report; Commissioner Gross moved and Commissioner Deaton supported those motions, which passed by voice vote 8–0 with 1 absent.
Later in the meeting the board convened a closed session under MCL 15.268 to discuss a written legal opinion; roll call was taken and the motion to convene the closed session carried. The board returned to open session and adjourned at about 9:55 p.m.
The resolution and the related easement agreement are recorded in the meeting materials; meeting minutes or the county clerk's office can confirm the final easement language and any related land-lease terms.
