Board approves lease cancellations, a new lease and highest hunting bid for district land

The board approved three land-lease actions in a combined motion. Trustees voted to cancel a 5-acre residential lease held by Daphne Baron and David Garcia at Ellison Ridge (parcel 16-14-14), cancel a 43-acre hunting lease on Billie Jean McNeil (parcel 16-13-12 in Noxapater), and cancel a 2.5-acre residential lease for Daniel Wade Gooden and approve a new lease for Timberland Rashid Wilson on that same property (parcel 16-13-12). The package of three lease items was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.

Separately, the board considered the highest hunting bid for a 14-acre tract in parcel 16-14-12 (Center Ridge). There was only one bid, from the current leaseholder ZDL Shields, at $6 per acre. The board approved that bid after a motion and second.
