High‑school renovation advances; auditorium will close in March and music programs will relocate

Phasing and timing: Phase 1a is expected to be completed around Dec. 24 and includes the library, roughly 12–13 classrooms, the high‑school technology office and a converted restroom. Phase 1b is targeted for completion Jan. 31 and includes a multipurpose room and mechanical room. Phase 2 — which includes a science wing and the music wing near the main entrance — will begin after Christmas and overlap 1b; the auditorium is scheduled to be shut down in March. To accommodate the music program, public work sessions and some board meetings will relocate to South Lebanon Elementary beginning Jan. 5 while renovations are underway.
The administration said it contracted moving assistance and will also use staff to handle logistics during the holiday move starting Dec. 26. Board members asked about impacts to spring events; administration said the spring musical will be relocated to the middle school and other events (awards, banquets, commencement) are being rescheduled as needed.
Next steps: Facilities will continue phase‑by‑phase evaluation, monitor contingencies within the project budget, and communicate relocation plans for events and programs to affected stakeholders.
