Springdale School District used its Nov. 11 meeting to recognize educators and students for recent honors and to report district accountability results.
A presenter announced multiple teacher and school recognitions tied to the Office for Educational Policy and the Arkansas School Recognition Program. The Don Tyson School of Innovation received a top-5 performance award totaling $183,000.84, Hellstern Middle School received awards including $79,740.26 for top-5 growth, and several other schools were named for high performance or growth under the state program. The presenter said the district received an overall letter grade of AB under the new accountability system.
Administrators also introduced eight National Merit semifinalists and highlighted gains in Advanced Placement participation and scores since 2021. One administrator summarized AP growth, noting higher numbers of 3s, 4s and 5s and increased student participation, which the district credited to focused instruction and use of the Professional Development Center.
The board read and acknowledged a long list of individual teachers identified as performing at or above the global mean or pass rate on AP measures; several were invited to speak briefly about subjects taught and years of service.
No changes to funding uses beyond the recognition payouts were announced at the meeting.
