Executive Committee approves $1.1M supportive-housing award and several behavioral-health contracts

The McLean County Executive Committee approved a slate of behavioral-health contracts and grants Wednesday, including a $1,100,095 award to the McLean County Center for Human Services for supportive housing and other contracts intended to bolster local behavioral-health services.
Ms. Marita Landreth, director of Behavioral Health Coordination, described a recently awarded contract to the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal for up to $190,000 to restore supportive services lost to an unexpected funding cancellation. She described the award as part of a Notice of Funding Opportunity to preserve essential community behavioral-health services that are unduplicated or serve specific populations with limited access.
The committee also approved an award of up to $1,100,095 to the McLean County Center for Human Services to fund a supportive-housing program that helps participating families remain housed through the remainder of the year. Landreth said the funds are intended to stabilize families engaged in County-supported supportive-housing services.
Separately, the committee approved a PESI contract to provide motivational-interviewing training for up to roughly 300 participants (a combination of in-person and virtual sessions) paid from a community-projects professional-development allocation, and it approved an extension of a clinical affiliation agreement with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work to continue practicum placements.
Chair Johnson also combined and approved four items tied to the System of Care federal grant (SAMHSA), including contracts for psychiatric services and care coordination with local providers (McLean County Center for Human Services, Center for Youth and Family Solutions, Babyfold, Well-Being in Action). County staff said the local match portion for the System of Care grant is $271,223.
All items were approved by voice vote and will be incorporated into the County Board agenda for final action.
