Fort Worth council issues recognitions for caregivers, nurse practitioners and 21 years of community turkey giveaways

Councilmember Nettles presented a recognition for Bishop Michael E. Williams and the congregation of True Love Sanctuary, honoring 21 years of an annual turkey giveaway that the council said has supported thousands of families. Bishop Williams described continuing need amid recent federal government shutdown effects, thanked the city and volunteers and said the church intended to feed thousands of families during the Thanksgiving season.
Councilmember Beck introduced representatives from the TCU School of Nursing and proclaimed November as Nurse Practitioner Week in Fort Worth, noting nurse practitioners’ role in expanding access to care and citing patient-contact statistics used in the proclamation.
