The Brockton City Council voted Nov. 10 to postpone two hearings for Teen Challenge New England Inc.’s license transfer requests for premises at 12 Clifton Ave, moving both matters to the first City Council meeting in December.
Councilman DeCastro moved to postpone the garage-license hearing and the motor-vehicle mechanical repair-license hearing, saying the group’s representative "was not able to be here at 07:00 tonight" and that "there's also more work to be done in the application." Council President Thompson seconded and the motions passed by voice vote.
Clerk’s reports read at the hearing noted the Fire Department had no objections and that "all paperwork is on file." Both hearings had been signed for Oct. 27, 2025 and previously were postponed that evening; councilors said the postponements would allow time for the applicant to complete required materials and appear before the body.
Next steps: the council set both Teen Challenge items for the city’s first council meeting in December, when the hearings will be re-opened and the council may consider final action.
