Holmen Board hears UW–Whitewater field-experience contract; item set for Nov. 24 consent agenda

Kim Edwards, executive director of instructional services for the Holmen School District, told the board at its Nov. 10 meeting that the district has a field-experience contract with the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater to place clinical students and student teachers in district schools. “It would allow us to continue to place clinical students and student teachers, with our school district,” Edwards said.
Edwards said the agreement is structured to automatically renew each year and would be revisited after a three‑year period. She also told the board the district retains the option to exit the agreement at any time. The item was announced as appearing on the Nov. 24 consent agenda for formal action.
No board members asked questions during the presentation. The contract was presented as a routine partnership intended to support classroom placements and the district’s teacher pipeline; Edwards described it as a continuation of an existing relationship with UW–Whitewater.
The board clerk will include the contract on the Nov. 24 consent agenda where the board may vote to approve the agreement.
