The Farmington Hills City Council opened its regular meeting Nov. 10 by approving the agenda as published and taking action on consent agenda items 12–17, which covered procurement, contract awards and meeting minutes.
The council issued two proclamations: one recognizing Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2025) and another designating November 2025 as Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Brian Pickworth of the Department of Public Works accepted the lung cancer proclamation and a survivor addressed the council, sharing a 13‑year experience with stage 4 lung cancer and calling for reduced stigma and continued research.
Council members offered post‑election remarks. Mayor Theresa Rich disclosed campaign fundraising totals and noted she had consulted the city attorney regarding contributions; she also announced a Feeding Farmington Hills task force aimed at addressing food insecurity, reporting 52 community participants have met and that a second meeting is scheduled.
City Manager remarks included a reminder about yard waste pickup in early December and thanks to the outgoing long‑serving official Councilman Bruce.
Votes at a glance: the agenda was approved by voice vote and the consent agenda (items 12–17) passed on a roll‑call vote with all recorded votes in the affirmative.
