The Village of Jackson Budget & Finance Committee on Nov. 11 recommended payment of final invoices and a reimbursement related to the 2024 Wastewater Treatment Plant tertiary filters and UV disinfection project.
The committee approved Pay Request No. 19, the final pay application to contractor JH Hassinger in the amount of $230,930.58. "It was a sizable amount," the Committee Chair said during discussion, and a Public Works representative, Jack, said a final under-budget figure was not yet finalized. Jack estimated the project came in "approximately 150 to 200,000 under." The motion to approve the final pay was moved by Olson and seconded by Wells; the chair announced the motion carried by voice vote.
Members also approved Change Order No. 2 for the same JH Hassinger contract, noting a decrease of $8,470.66. The Board of Public Works had recommended the change order.
Separately, the committee approved Reimbursement Request No. 15 to the Clean Water Fund loan for $296,155.05. Staff said one additional reimbursement request will follow to cover engineering expenses associated with an operations-and-maintenance manual that is currently being drafted; those engineering fees are reimbursable and will be reflected in the final reimbursement packet. Olson moved and Wells seconded the reimbursement motion; the committee approved it by voice vote.
The committee’s approvals complete the close-out steps the Board of Public Works recommended and will be forwarded to the Village Board as routine recommendations. No roll-call tallies were recorded in the committee minutes; the chair announced each motion carried by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will submit the final engineering reimbursement for the O&M manual and finalize the total under-budget amount for the project.
