Dr. Coates said the district will change elementary drop‑off start time back to 8:30 a.m. beginning in January to allow more breakfast time for students and to ease transportation logistics as the district prepares for a fifth grade elementary center. "We are going to actually open our doors a little bit earlier, starting in January," she said.
She also announced the district will introduce elementary art as a regular special next school year by repurposing an existing classroom at each elementary site and completing necessary renovations over the summer. "This will have a direct impact on every single elementary student in the district," Coates said.
The board recognized student achievements including members of the All‑State Jazz Choir and five National Merit semifinalists — Ty Elias, Sean Gunter, Mallory Sepulveda, Addison Welborn and Austin Yowell — who were presented and photographed with trustees.
