LaSalle committee recommends Lexicool contract to update police policy manual, approves recommendation to council

The LaSalle Finance Committee voted to recommend that the full City Council approve a contract with Lexicool to implement and maintain the police policy manual.
Police Chief Janikas described the service as a cloud-based program that will help the department stay current with state regulatory and legislative changes, assist with customizing policies and provide an implementation phase focused on the top 50 high-risk policies. The contract price presented to the committee was $27,298.40, to be paid in two parts: a prorated first payment to cover implementation and a second payment in May 2026 for the first annual subscription.
Chief Janikas said the service period would cover Dec. 1 through April 2027 and that the company provides professional services to help launch the policy to the department. The chief noted the fire department recently contracted with the same company and said the town would receive a 20% discount by aligning purchases.
Alderman Laverne moved to send the recommendation to the council; Alderman Thompson seconded the motion. The clerk called the roll; the committee recorded unanimous support and the chair announced the motion carried.
