Staff reported a quick employee survey returned 37 responses and that over 80% of respondents supported the proposed calendar. Board members asked that staff also poll current parents about preferences—specifically whether families would prefer Easter Monday off or a full two‑week winter break—and requested staff report results back at the Dec. 1 meeting if the board delays final approval from Nov. 17 to allow for family input.
Staff agreed to run a short three‑question parent survey in the weekly newsletters and via the district app and to return calendar options and survey results to the board on Dec. 1. Staff also noted polling‑site constraints drove a November professional‑development day placement to accommodate parking and voting at school sites.
No formal calendar approval occurred at this meeting; staff will bring results and final options back to the board for formal action.
