The Centennial School District Board of School Directors unanimously adopted a resolution on Nov. 11 urging the Pennsylvania General Assembly to end the state budget impasse and approved a package of consent, financial and policy items.
Board members voted to adopt the resolution under new business (item 7.1), calling on state lawmakers to resolve the budget standoff. The vote was approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The board approved both halves of a split consent agenda. The first half covered minutes and personnel actions (resignations, end of assignments, authorizations, leaves of absence, status changes, mentor teachers and co-curricular clubs). The second half included facilities and contracts: the board approved a quote for repair of a defective sewer pipe at the administration building from Soon Drain at a district cost not to exceed $27,070.65 and retroactively approved an early childhood program memorandum of agreement with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for the use of two classrooms at Guilderdell Elementary School for the 2025–26 school year.
The board also approved grouped financial items (item 9.1–9.4): schedules of bills and cash-receipt summaries for October 2025, November budget transfers, a pending bill list and an approved bill list.
On policy matters, the board approved policies presented for adoption (item 8.2), including Policy 208 (withdrawal from school), Policy 317 (conduct and disciplinary procedures), Policy 317.1 (educator misconduct), Policy 320 (freedom of speech by employees) and Policy 718 (service animals in schools). During discussion, a board member asked why the draft policy referenced miniature horses; staff said the updates reflect changes in state law and existing administrative lists of acceptable service animals, and that service animals must still meet certification/administrative requirements.
Superintendent Dr. Lukubaugh introduced Tara Mossman as the district's new chief human resources officer, welcoming her to Centennial; the introduction followed the board's earlier personnel vote. Dr. Lukubaugh also acknowledged Christopher Sanchez Peralta, director of communications and marketing, for assembling a Veterans Day video shown to the board.
All recorded votes on motions in open session were taken by voice and passed without opposition in the order presented on the agenda. The meeting adjourned after routine reports and scheduling announcements.
