District staff presented a multi‑year branding effort to give the Career and Technical Education programs at the Community Learning Center a distinct identity. After five surveys with 827 total responses, staff recommended the name Tooele ACE Center (ACE = Advanced Career Exploration) to help market programs including culinary, computer/dentistry/law enforcement/graphics and cosmetology.
The presenter described examples of successful program outcomes — culinary community dinners serving more than 150 people, graphics students advancing to nationals — and argued a consistent name and logo would help with recruitment, competition identity and public recognition. Board members raised questions about costs and signage; staff said much of the initial branding work (website updates, window clings, banners) could be done in‑house and capital outlay could cover first‑year signage with future marquee replacement as the larger expense.
Board member Bob moved and the board approved a motion to allow CTE programs at the CLC to brand themselves as the Tooele ACE Center.
