Oshkosh council approves two ordinances on e-bikes and High Avenue parking

The Oshkosh Common Council on Nov. 11 adopted two ordinances with limited discussion.
Ordinance 25-5-76 amends section 27-63b of the City of Oshkosh municipal code to restrict bicycles (including e-bikes) on sidewalks or walkways where a building abuts the sidewalk. Council Member Flom thanked staff and the Transportation Committee for crafting language that balances e-bike use and pedestrian safety: "It's not perfect... but I think it's definitely a good start," Flom said.
Ordinance 25-5-77 amends parking regulations on High Avenue. The ordinance was moved, seconded and carried with no substantive debate recorded on the council floor.
Both ordinances carried on roll-call votes and will be implemented per municipal code procedures.
