The DuPage High School District 88 Board discussed renewal of an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Chicago related to O'Hare Airport noise.

Staff described the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission IGA as a forum for communities to coordinate on noise issues and recommended renewing the five-year agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2030. Staff noted the renewal makes no substantive changes other than term dates and said complaints originating in Addison have been minimal; the IGA preserves the district’s ability to participate in regional discussions should flight patterns change.

Board members asked whether the district had experienced local complaints over the prior five-year term. Staff replied that Addison’s complaints have been few and that much of sound insulation and mitigation work occurs closer to the airport.
