Staff highlighted that technology and internet-safety changes reflect recent state legislation and reporting obligations to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
During discussion on the grading policy (3400) staff proposed replacing specific vendor references to PowerSchool with the generic term 'student information system' to reflect the district’s current system; that change was accepted and the policy was carried to the full board as amended.
The committee also carried policy changes that add the U.S. Space Force to military dependent provisions and moved updates to the district’s concussion/head-injury policy (4270) to require athletic-trainer presence at wrestling matches and tournaments — a change staff said the district already follows.
Most motions were made from the chair and seconded; committee voice votes were recorded as 'Aye' and outcomes described in the meeting as carrying (typically recorded as 2-0 in the transcript).
