The Mayfield Heights City Council approved a series of emergency resolutions on Nov. 10 awarding contracts for signage, police vehicles and a street resurfacing project.
Director of Law Schmidlin presented Resolution 2025-58 to award the 2025 wayfinding sign program to Archer Sign Corporation as the lowest and best bidder; the council suspended the rules and adopted the resolution by roll call.
Council then approved Resolution 2025-59 authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with Lee Kinsell (transcript spellings vary) Chevrolet for a new Chevrolet Tahoe for the police department at $56,098. Chief Mili’s memo had been circulated in advance, and Captain Paquette attended the meeting.
Resolution 2025-60 authorizes purchase of two 2026 Ford Interceptors for the police department; the transcript does not include a total purchase price for that item. The council also adopted Resolution 2025-61 to pay $52,414 to Hall Public Safety Upfitters to upfit equipment for three police cruisers; council discussed reusing transferable equipment from existing cruisers where feasible.
Finally, council adopted Resolution 2025-62 awarding a contract to Protect A Coat Inc. for the 2025 Catalano Drive resurfacing project. City Engineer Feeney had circulated a memo and was present for questions; council had been polled earlier to expedite this time-sensitive work due to approaching weather. Council approved all these resolutions by roll call during the meeting.
