Pulaski County Council approved a revised salary and wage ordinance for 2025 and authorized a series of budget transfers and additions across county departments at its Nov. 10 meeting.
Council approved the revised salary ordinance (matrix adjustments noted for EMS and sheriff positions) after Speaker 4 moved and Speaker 2 seconded the motion with no additional discussion recorded.
The council also approved department transfers: sheriff transfers (including $16,600 from refunds), EMS and probation transfers (including $19,000 from chief probation officer to overtime), highway and bridge transfers and smaller transfers for building maintenance. The council approved an additional $7,175 to the veteran service officer as an advertised item and voted to advertise sheriff additions totaling roughly $15,000 (with $14,183 proposed from the misdemeanor fund to cover prescription-related medical bills in the jail). The LEPC transfer of $5,000 to training and several other small transfers were also approved.
Council members asked for additional budget detail on some items and directed staff to advertise certain additions for final approval; motions were made and carried by voice vote for each transfer.
