Staff said the airport project is roughly 90% reimbursable through federal infrastructure funds tied to the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems and cautioned that scoping must begin before a May 31 deadline to avoid losing funds.
The court approved a petition from Brian Wiganowski to abandon a 60-foot recorded but unimproved portion of 1st Street in Lamar Townside so the owner can replat lots to accommodate an on-site sewer facility; staff said the abandonment does not landlock parcels and meets state requirements. The county also approved routine accounts payable and payroll liabilities, calling out invoices for Lloyd Gosling ($61,624.70) and Pete Dawson ($29,562.50) for a drainage study.
Votes on these items passed on recorded votes by the commissioners present; the court tabled Item 10 because the full body was not present for that agenda topic.
Next steps: staff will pursue procurement and grant-scoping steps for the airport work, and planners will process the replat after right-of-way abandonment paperwork is finalized.
