Mount Pleasant board appoints Gina Cefalu Pollock; approves small right-of-way cleanups

At its Nov. 10 meeting the Mount Pleasant Village Board filled a vacant trustee seat and passed two property-cleanup resolutions.
The board voted to appoint Gina Cefalu Pollock to fill the unexpired term for Trustee seat No. 2 (term through April 2026). Trustees praised Pollock’s architectural and real-estate background during a brief discussion before approving the appointment by voice vote. Pollock did not make a substantive statement on the record beyond receiving the board’s welcome.
On property items, staff member Sam explained the board was asked to approve two discontinuances as housekeeping measures. Resolution 10-2025 discontinues a small sliver of Meghan’s Way to reflect the final constructed alignment; staff characterized the change as a right-of-way cleanup. Resolution 11-2025 discontinues a roughly 5 to 10-foot unimproved public walk in the Royal Oaks subdivision that was platted but never constructed and is currently maintained by adjacent property owners; staff said the discontinuance simply recognizes existing conditions and allows adjacent owners to own the small sliver.
Both discontinuance resolutions passed on roll-call votes with all trustees voting Aye. The meeting adjourned after those items.
