Tipton City's public-works report included updates on intergovernmental talks and a private-sector proposal for yard-waste handling.

"We've continued to be in conversation with the county and actually, have had positive movement on that," Speaker 4 said regarding salt-storage talks. He said a possible partnership on salt storage and brining could allow the city and county to expand brining activity "which should then, in effect, improve road conditions throughout the winter months," but added details are still being worked through.

Speaker 4 also said the solid waste district brought Caldwell Inc. to town and the company submitted a proposal for yard-waste mitigation, which staff will review to determine whether the city can manage green-waste better during busy seasons.

On safety and operations, Speaker 4 said municipal services installed the downtown Christmas tree and reported that OSHA visited and the city passed the inspection based on the report. No binding agreements were approved at the meeting; staff will continue evaluating proposals and negotiating terms with the county and vendors.
