Students ask Glen Rock board for a middle-school playground; group proposes $25,200 Kompan unit and offers to fundraise

A group representing Girls on the Run appeared during the meeting—s public-comment period to propose building a middle-school playground.

Penny Unger introduced the team and student speakers described how current recess options leave many children with only limited activities. The students said they researched a Kompan Super Kami fitness/playground that "can support 17 adult bodies at 1 time" and quoted a cost of "$25,200." They framed the playground as beneficial not only for middle-school recess but also for high-school coaches, family spectators and community members who use the track, and offered to meet with administrators and help fundraise.

Board members thanked the students and said the administration would be in touch to discuss feasibility and next steps; no formal action was taken at the meeting.
