Greensville County School Board approves student and personnel recommendations after two closed sessions

The Greensville County School Board on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, held two closed sessions and approved student- and personnel-related recommendations that were discussed behind closed doors.

Board Chair Jesse opened the meeting and, after an initial closed session to hear student hearings and consider prospective personnel matters, the board reconvened and certified that the closed meeting complied with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. During the certification roll call each board member answered "Yes," affirming the meeting was conducted in conformity with the law.

Acting Superintendent recommended the approval of student matters "as presented in closed session," and the board approved that motion by voice vote. Later in the meeting, after a second closed session to interview and consider candidates for employment and other personnel matters, the superintendent recommended approval of all personnel matters discussed; the board again approved the recommendation by voice vote.

The board did not record individual roll-call tallies for the student- and personnel-approval motions in the open minutes; the actions were carried by unanimous voice vote (the meeting had four members present during roll calls). The board followed its stated authority for closed sessions cited during the meeting under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.

The board concluded routine business and adjourned following the approvals.
