Snowmobile Alliance flags Osprey Bridge disrepair; county to form ad hoc committee on ATV/UTV/snowmobile routes

Tim Davis, speaking on behalf of the Sawyer County Snowmobile Alliance, told the committee that agenda item 11b would be tabled elsewhere and asked whether future meetings or subcommittees would be open to public and Alliance participation. He warned that "the Osprey Bridge is in disrepair, very disrepair, and is starting to tip to the side," and said operators may refuse to cross it, which could require closing the trail and disrupt north'south travel across the county.
The chair told the committee he and two board members attended a meeting with LCO and proposed placing an item on the December agenda to form an ad hoc committee of three to address roads and trail routing; the first meeting for that committee is expected in January. The chair said the Alliance may attend and provide location knowledge. No formal membership was appointed at this meeting.
The committee did not vote on trail reroutes or bridge repairs at this meeting. The public comment and the committee's stated plan to form an ad hoc committee indicate the issue will return for discussion and possible action at the December meeting.
