Copperas Cove honors employees and is named a VA Veterans Day regional site

Copperas Cove — Nov. 4, 2025 — City Manager Ryan Havelock and staff recognized several municipal employees for milestone service during the council—s workshop and accepted a Department of Veterans Affairs regional-site certificate for Veterans Day.
Havelock introduced service awards honoring Steven Evelsizer (five years, Solid Waste), John Field Jr. (five years, Water Distribution/backflow prevention), Antonio O—Neil (five years, Solid Waste) and Howard Dixon (15 years, Animal Control). Havelock and department supervisors spoke to employees— duties and contributions, thanking them for years of service to the community.
Kevin Keller, public relations director, introduced Laurie Spencer, the Central Texas Veterans Day regional-site coordinator, who presented the Department of Veterans Affairs certificate designating Copperas Cove a regional site for Veterans Day. "It is my honor to present this certificate recognizing Copperas Cove as a regional site for the Department of Veterans Affairs for Veterans Day," Spencer said, noting the recognition spans 56 communities across 28 states and that only two communities in Texas are designated in the Central Texas grouping (Copperas Cove and Killeen).
No action was required; the item was a ceremonial recognition. The workshop adjourned at 5:33 p.m.
