Cortland advances emergency funding and contract discussion for new salt-storage roof tied to H2Ohio grant

Council reviewed a set of budget and emergency measures tied to a salt-storage project at Willow Park on Nov. 3.

Finance staff presented Resolution R-43-25 to advance $75,000 from the General Fund to the Salt Storage Bin Fund and an emergency amendment to the annual appropriation (Ordinance O-63-25) to record grant funding. Mayor later introduced Ordinance O-64-25, an emergency measure authorizing the mayor to enter an agreement with ClearSpan to construct and install a roof for a new salt-storage bin submitted by the mayor.

Staff said the project is tied to an H2Ohio grant and has a 12-week lead time for the structure; making the purchase an emergency would allow the city to order equipment so the project could be completed in time for the grant schedule.
