"They allow our golf team to play for free year round," a Tanglewood representative said, drawing praise from board members who presented a plaque of appreciation.
Board members celebrated Coach Minnick’s roughly 20 years leading the golf program, noting five section titles and a career record the presenter gave as 423 wins. Coach Minnick thanked the community and credited the board for support; he said the program has returning players and would be in good hands after his departure.
The board also recognized multiple students of the month and their nominating teachers: - Josh Perez (kindergarten) was praised for marked progress in the school year and mobility gains. - Autumn Bowman was recognized for strong academics, citizenship and leadership in the classroom. - Nevaeh Sancenig (Claremont) was honored for kindness, resilience and peer support. - Weston Hecker was lauded by a special-education teacher for making peers feel included and for leadership in inclusive activities.
Families were invited to have student photos taken for the district website. Board members closed the recognitions with encouragement for community volunteers and noted upcoming events on the district calendar.
