Board okays sidewalk contract, lighting agreements and roundabout schedule change

At its Nov. 3 meeting, the Greenwood Board of Public Works and Safety approved several public‑works contracts and a schedule change for a neighborhood roundabout.
Mr. Hudson presented two Duke Energy lighting service agreements: one covering 10 poles on Wirstool Road at $387.89 per month and one covering two poles in Shallow's Crossing at $55.32 per month. The board approved both agreements.
Mr. Hudson also described a sidewalk replacement and repair contract for two separate sections to bring sidewalks into Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. The board approved the contract, which Mr. Hudson said totaled $82,467.
Engineering staff recommended acceptance and execution of change order No. 3 for the Smith Valley Road neighborhood roundabout to extend the project timeline so the opening can coincide with a nearby roundabout at Woodman; engineering said the extension added days but did not increase cost. The board authorized the mayor to sign the change order and approved the recommendation.
Several fence encroachment requests and a shed permit were also approved by the board subject to engineering conditions; property owners participating online confirmed receipt of staff memos and agreed to the stated conditions.
