"We ended up putting in a new, slippery, slip‑resistant type floor... it is great," Shaw said after describing the testing and the contractor’s work.
Shaw told council that $300,000 in state capital grant money offset part of the project, with the remaining cost split roughly between the city and partner agencies per the original agreement; he said each agency likely spent about $7,500 less than anticipated after accounting for grants and final numbers.
Council moved to adopt Ordinance 1‑18‑2025 as an emergency measure to authorize the mayor and finance director to approve the change order; the motion carried on voice vote.
