County proclaims November IHSS Caregiver Month, cites scale of program

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors proclaimed November 2025 as In‑Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Caregiver Month, honoring caregivers who help residents remain in their homes. President Lee read the proclamation and invited IHSS staff to the dais.
Edith Gong, director for the Public Authority serving IHSS, thanked the board and said the county recognizes tens of thousands of caregivers. The transcript records President Lee saying the county recognizes over 38,000 IHSS caregivers who support more than 36,000 residents, including low‑income, blind, disabled and elderly individuals. Gong noted that more than 70% of IHSS caregivers are family members and highlighted advisory board members and individual caregivers present for the proclamation.
